Out Spam Email
Forward spam emails you receive to uce@ftc.gov
, where it can be examined for possible fraudulent business
practices. The "refrigerator," as the computer is
known, currently receives 130,000 emails per day.
The US's FTC has managed to shut down 48 spammers, he said.
Large ISPs such as EarthLink Inc. and America Online have filed
suits of their own, using existing trespass, nuisance and computer
crime laws to shut down spammers. EarthLink has sued over 100
spammers, winning judgments of up to US$25 million, said Dave
Baker, vice president for law and public policy, and also uses
a variety of filtering technologies and several full-time staffers
to weed out unwanted messages.
However, every user of email needs to run their own anti-spam
programme, downloadable online (use anti spam in search field
to find).
