The Ministry of Health are enforcing old legislation - The Medicines Act
1981 - in order to shut down the promotion and advertising of a great
number of products used in the Natural Health field. This includes essence
oils, herbs, dietary supplements. Any product which has not been tested by
the Ministry and deemed to be a medicine is prohibited from advertising
any of its Therapeutic uses.
If you have a website you will be asked to remove all information on
Therapeutic uses from from listings. This includes all written, spoken and

Medsafe have denied that the hiring of a `hit-team' targeting small
alternative health businesses has anything to do with the setback last
year to their plans to merge with the Australian equivalent - which latter
is also suffering in its expansion plans. One could be forgiven for
surmising that big-pharma is the power behind the throne in all this, in
which case its another sorry tale of capital greed verses human need.
