The Empire Strikes Back
by Alan Marston

This afternoon New Zealand time the US military began an invasive war
against Iraq. An aggressive act which has all the hallmarks of imperialism,
the ancient name for an ancient practise that has cast a long shadow over
humanity for at least 6 millennia. Moslems are the latest in a long line of
chosen enemy, and oil is the black gold that the Empire21 aims to plunder.

I believe certain sections of the US populace have imperial ambitions and
they have manifested those first within the USA, then Afghanistan, then the
UN and now Iraq is in their gun-sights. Afghanistan was the weakest of all
nations containing the new enemy and after 10 years of economic and
military cold-war Iraq was next on a very long list painted in the infamous
axis of evil speech by George W Bush. Not unimportant a reason for choosing
Iraq for invasion is the shadow within the shadow of all war and conflict,
ego. The Bush dynasty cannot stomach that Sadam Hussein, their former
puppet, has stood up to the puppet-master.

History is only a second hand future, but it has proved its worth for those
wishing to position themselves in the vortex of war. History states
unequivocally that imperialism knows no limit of reason or humanity, it is
only contained either by a stronger empire without or a weak morale within.
In the age of uncontrollable information flow, the Empire may strike out at
the world, but its fate will be sealed by the changing beliefs of what is
right of those who call America home.

Don't rely on the mainstream media, there are safer alternative sources of
information.
