Labour Of Many Colours

Copy of letter sent to Hon Mr Jim Sutton,
Minister for Trade Negotiations, NZ Government

Dear Mr Sutton

Thank you for your reply of 25 November
2002 in regard to my concerns regarding China breaching the ILO rules and
regulations.

Within your reply you state that
"it is our view that developing countries should not be denied
legitimate comparative advantage of lower labour costs but this advantage
should not be secured by deliberately neglecting fundamental labour
principles."

With reference to your statement above, do you consider China to be a developing country?

Yours sincerely
