White Chocolate

Performance Event with Charles Koroneho, Matthew Brennan, Kerryn McMurdo
and Mark Harvey

Friday March 8, 7:30pm, Lopdell House Gallery, Titirangi, Auckland. $8/$6

White Chocolate will be an evening of performances that reside within the
swamps of a confectionary no man's land. The artists Charles Koroneho,
Kerryn McMurdo, Mark Harvey and Matthew Brennan will each be wading through
the tide of society's cultural quagmires amidst the quandaries of
identification. White Chocolate is a form of sweet that plays at the
haunches of hybridity, it is neither truly white nor chocolate.

Harvey will be slushing through the realms of the bonus family-value pack
as well as fixating on the simulation of contentment in leakable packaging.
Koroneho will render a form of horiental martial arts from a postcolonial
yet sponge cake perspective. The shop window of the artist as cultural
clairvoyant will be sold yet unsold through the vibrations of Brennan's
boom box of hundreds and thousands. Amidst this rich milky flavouring
McMurdo's mothership will dock like a cherry to a cream bun.

White Chocolate are Auckland-based artists who recently contributed to
Rotisserie, an evening of performance at Auckland's MIC in October, 2001.
