American-Jewish theologian who has been visiting Uni of Canterbury
talking about Palestinians, interfaith relations, Holocaust.
He has similar views to those held by Naom Chomsky and Edward

Marc H. Ellis, Professor of American anmd Jewish Studies, Balor
University, Waco, Texas, Formerly Professor at Maryknoll School
of Theology and Director of the Justice and Peace Program of
Florida State University. Professor Ellis brings critical insights
from his experience as a Jew working alongside Palestinian Christians
and Muslims in their desire to find peace in the Middle East.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu has written: Ellis provides a "vital
contribution to solving one of the remaining intractable problems
of our time."
[Dr. Ellis] will speak in the Wesley Hall of St. John's College,
202 St. John's Road, Meadowbank On TUESDAY, 14th AUGUST at 2-4.30
a public meeting, at which Professor Ellis will speak on "Practicing
Exile: On the Future of Judaism, Islam and Christianity," with
time for discussion. And at 6.00-- 9.00 pm-- a Class on Interfaith
Relations, which will welcome visitors on this occasion. A donation
of $5 towards expenses for each of the sessions would be welcome.
