Madge
You are invited to attend the Madge launch party on Friday 31st
May at
8.00pm at St Mathews in the City Hobson Street Auckland.
MAdGE…(mothers against genetic engineering) is a rapidly growing
network of
non-politically aligned women who are actively resisting the
introduction
of GE into food and the environment…supporting those companies
who have
made a commitment to being GE free and lobbying and boycotting
those who
haven't.
Madges launch party at St Mathews in the City Church will be
a fabulous GE
free feast for two hundred designed and cooked by Annabelle
Guiness, Simon
from The French Café , Eugene from Euro, Pete Chaplin from Musical
Knives,
Dominic from Leigh Sawmill, Matt from Verona, Lara from Savour
and Charles
from Cardiac with performances from opera singers, the GE free
can can
girls, drag act Cornicha and a rare acoustic performance from
Bic Runga and
various other artists. Denise L'Estrange-Corbet from World has
organized
ten MAdGE umbrellas to be customized by ten high profile New
Zealand
artists, including Rick Killeen, Judy Darragh and Max Gimlett
and these
will be auctioned on the night.
Organised by Alannah Currie (ex Thompson Twins) and Morag Brownlie
(performance director for many corporate events including the
Americas Cup
Ball in 2000 and the Wearable Art Awards) it will be a wild,
stylish highly
creative celebration of New Zealand food and wine, and highlighting
the
need for our country to retain its clean green image in the
world and keep
out genetically engineered food.
MAdGE's launch is unashamedly a fund and awareness raising event.
A
strictly limited number of 200 tickets will cost $200 a piece
or $2000 for
a table of ten. To place your order for tickets, please e-mail
us now at
madge@paradise.net.nz
or phone 09 309 3838.
