Amory Lovins Energy

Amory Lovins of the Rocky Mountain Institute USA will be in Auckland in
November to outline the enormous opportunities for business and NZ
generally to increase our economic viability and enhance our lifestyles by
capturing emerging innovations in the areas of energy, transport and design.

His vision is particularly relevant to Auckland in 2002 as the city
grapples with creating a sustainable transport system, and New Zealand as a
whole as the country's electricity use continues to expand when little new
hydro capacity is available, gas supplies are uncertain and the
environmental impact of all energy use is increasingly a matter for concern.

While he is here Lovins will be working with businesses and government
officials on energy, transport and design paths that exist to create a
sustainable future for New Zealand.
