NOT IN MY NAME (41mins)
A powerful new documentary film has been launched to tell the story of the US attack on Afghanistan which we didn't see on our television screens. Narrated by Jeremy Hardy, the film presents powerful evidence that the US attack on Afghanistan has not helped defeat terrorism in fact, the film suggests, the US military actions have resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians and made the world a much more danger place. The film explains the background to the war, and the central part the US played in actually creating the power of the Taliban and Osama bin Laden. It explores the way the control of television coverage has become a central issue in the war, with mainstream broadcasters relaying government propaganda and independent TV stations the targets for US bombs. Says associate producer Norman Thomas: "The aim of the film is to alert people of the very dangerous situation the US attack on Afghanistan has created in the world. The US say they will attack terrorists anywhere and everywhere in the world. But who decides who is a terrorist?" Contributors include: Award-winning journalist John Pilger, Tony Benn, Tariq Ali, Channel 4's Jon Snow, Bianca Jagger, Labour MP George Galloway, Paul Foot, Salma Yacoob, as well as many others. "Not In My Name" is produced by award-winning radical film maker, Platform Films (makers of "The People's Flag", "Proud Arabs and Texas Oilmen" and "The Cause of Ireland") in association with TV Choice, London-based maker of educational programs.(41mins)

WOOMERA 2002
During Easter 2002, activists from around Australia converged upon Woomera Detention Centre to protest the federal government's mandatory detention of refugees. Activists coordinated with the detainees' protests from within the detention centre resulting in the mass break out of 50 refugees. Most of the escapees were returned to the detention centre, but 11 detainees achieved freedom. The activists continued to protest the inhumane treatment of refugees in detention throughout the weekend expressing their solidarity with both the detained refugees and also the people that escaped. The incident led to an increase in global awareness surrounding mandatory detention policies in Australia.(34 mins)

PLAN B:PEACE
On February 15 2003, 10,000 people gathered in downtown Auckland to oppose a new war on Iraq. They attempted to raise the political price of New Zealand support for the American government's well-oiled corporate war machine. Captured by the Indymedia crew, Plan B:Peace is a document about New Zealand's role in the worldwide peace demonstrations that tallied into the millions. Future generations may define this weekend as the watershed moment of the "biggest mass movement in the history of planet Earth".(25mins)
