Hard
Drive To Timor
Computers For East Timor has over the last 2 years sent upwards
of 100
computers and related equipment to east Timor to help with rebuilding
the
country and educating youth.
The project is nearing its end and is striving to send as much
of the
remaining computer equipment we've collected in a final two
shipments. We
have around 20 computers that are complete apart from hard drives,
and thus
need to source (for free of course) more drives. Any working
IDE drive of
250Meg or over will be useful. Any drive that has been used
in a standard
home PC of 6 or 7 years vintage will probably be useful.
We operate with no funding so will not be able to purchase drives.
(The air
force takes the equipment to East Timor. A couple of us set
up working
machines in Auckland). We only operate from Auckland, so drives
need to be
in that city.
If you can help please email me (stu@ihug.co.nz)
or call 620 6018 (Stuart)
NOTE - complete working computers, VGA monitors and modems >>
2400 baud
will also be accepted.
